Getting Started with Workspaces
Learn the basics of the Septra platform, workspaces, and initial setup.
Welcome to the Septra Business Operating System! Septra is designed to securely link custom AI agents to your organization's actual business data, helping you automate growth, strategy, and operations based on real context.
What is a Workspace?
In Septra, a Workspace is the fundamental security and operational boundary. Every organization, client account, or department operates inside its own isolated Workspace.

Workspace Isolation Guarantees
- Data Siloing: All uploaded documents, credentials, API integrations, and agent chats are logically and physically partitioned. No data can ever leak or cross between different Workspaces.
- Identity Boundaries: All authentication and access management are handled by secure, enterprise-grade identity providers. When a user authenticates, their access token includes a cryptographically verified workspace identifier.
- Independent Agents: AI agents (like Nova or Pulsar) are configured per Workspace, drawing context only from that specific Workspace's files and databases.
- Billing and Credits: Subscriptions and usage credits are managed independently for each Workspace. Each plan also includes a workspace allowance and a monthly credit pool that scales with your tier.

Setting Up Your Workspace
Getting your AI-powered workforce running takes just a few steps:
1. Account Creation & Initial Setup
When your Workspace is first provisioned, you are automatically assigned the Owner role. You will receive 500 free welcome credits to test agent actions immediately. Need more room to grow? Both your credit pool and workspace allowance increase automatically when you upgrade your plan.
2. Inviting Team Members
You can invite members to your Workspace from the Team Settings page. Permissions are controlled by a 4-tier Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) system:
- Owner: Full access to billing, user management, and agent deployment.
- Admin: Full access to configurations, agents, and data syncs.
- Member/Editor: Can execute agent tasks, view reports, and upload documentation.
- Viewer: Read-only access to view analytical reports and agent conversations.
3. Populating Workspace Memory
Before your agents can act, they need to understand your business. Navigate to the Knowledge Base section to upload documents, policies, or templates.
